Firewalk
(Amelia's Journey)
2003-10-01
Doug Schenker-Mick Terry
After crashing on her first attempt to fly around the world Amelia is upset. The press and the public have turned against her. She knows if given another chance she will succeed.
"FIREWALK"
Another dawn, who wrote this script? Another yawn, wake up to this.
I hear the news, it sounds so bleak. It’s sorrow time.
I make believe that there's a light at the tunnel’s end,
but it's the light of a train coming around the bend.
I push ahead.
They push me back.
I will succeed. I’ve got the knack to make the grade and do it right. I will not fade. I will take flight,
but there are things that I must prove, though at this time they seem so very, very hard to do.
CHORUS:
Everyday a new firewalk. Walk on coals never give it a thought.
Sleep on nails, there's no time to be bought. Everyday a new firewalk.
BRIDGE:
Attitudes can change. There’ll come a day
One day I’ll be smiling.
Be up there on the stage
A long engagement, take my part in the play
But for the moment I guess I’ll have to say
CHORUS:
Everyday a new firewalk. Walk on coals never give it a thought.
Sleep on nails, there's no time to be bought. Everyday a new firewalk.
